On my Hotted up Mini I had when I was an apprentice, some of the good bits on the engine was a Dowty 4 blade variable pitch fan. They were supposed to give the engine 2 extra HP. I never had any overheating problems either. Is there any one who still sells them. I missed one on EBAY a couple of years ago - it was in the USA. |

Yes! They are pretty rare these days - like hens teeth. |

What about a flexi fan? Don't know if they come in mini size. |

I'd say these days electric fans have replaced the need for them. Personally, I like my 16 blade metal one, unlike plastics it still has all its blades on! ![]() |

The Doc's right, flexi type fans might use less HP, but electric uses almost zilch, and are a fair bit safer than a slicer dicer flexi fan. ![]() |

Thanks for all the info. I am restoring a '69 MkII 'S'. I'll stick with the original plastic fan. |

I thought that the original was a steel fan1970 Cooper S, Mini K and `Matic all had a plastic fan. Not sure when these started, but my `69 Matic had a plastic one too. Both my Matics had a white plastic one. |
