I remember many years ago (1997) I had an issue with my indicators not self cancelling due to the mechanism being worn, I think the little spring was flogged or stretched or missing.

Anyways, for what ever reason I removed the small screw or bolt? from the steering colum that allows the indicators to cancel.

Does anyone know what size this is? Does anyone have a spare I could buy? Does anyone have a photo of what it looks like?

Ive bought a new indicator mechanism and would like this function to work.

It's a small bolt with a square head. They are available new from Somerford (see below) but surely someone on here or one of the Mini parts businesses has a spare inner steering column for wrecking. Otherwise grind a bolt head square to suit.

Yep thats how I remember it. I reckon I put it in a safe place back in the late 90s and now that safe place dosnt exist anymore. Had a search through my boxs of nuts/bolts spread out all over the garage floor.... no luck....

I have no idea what thread it even is? And I recall that lock nut on there also.

If some one had a spare, Id gladly purchase it and cover freight costs.

Make sure you have the self cancelling screw adjusted to the correct height or you will damage the switch.
