Hi all,

Just wondering when the 850 used the later front panel, with the brake 'ducts'/cutouts.

I have a rather original 850, and want to know if it has the front panel on that it should.

Cheers
Will.

I think that was either late 64 or early 65.
Having said that , all the 64's ive seen (including mine) haven't had the cutouts.

My last 850 was late 64 and had the cutouts.

I have a '62 CKD that has the cut outs, however I suspect it has had a panel replacement in its lifetime

I do as well, 62 and all! Definitely no ducts on a 62.

Mine has a body number of 59367.
Not sure what month/year that would place it in, but it was sold in February 1965.

Any clues?

Cheers

Somerford are usually pretty good with their timing of parts changes and they say it was 1964 in the UK, so it was probably 64 or 65 here.

See here - http://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/eshop/in ... &chapter=1

They show a front panel without the cut-outs as still being available, although the part number (ALA4574) doesn't appear on the above page - https://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/eshop/i ... ucts_id=90

Has anyone used the Somerford product? Does it have the small base's for the indicator lights, or larger ones like the latter UK cars? Or is it a modified late model panel?

Mick, Thanks for the link. I think I will buy the corner bits a weld them into my existing panel.
