Hey all,

I'm trying to track down some of the Aussie cooper flares (that take the chrome moulding). Everywhere is out of stock that I've tried.

One supplier said the guy that was producing them has wound up the company and they're not available anymore.

Anyone got any ideas on where I could get some? Otherwise I will have to use some Wood and Pickett ones but I'd prefer the original look.

It's for a 68 Deluxe full resto btw.

Any help appreciated thanks.

The fact is that the guy who makes them has had more than his share of problems lately and was considering getting out of business. Like a lot of people running a business in this country he is finding it very hard, however I spoke to him today and have tripled my order, and he is going do his best to make them for me over the next 3-4 weeks. Now I know there are some clever people around who will read what ever they want into this, however I can only relay what I am told by the guy who makes them for me. Be sure of one thing I will get them made! Please note they are NOT REPRODUCTIONS, they are made from the original moulds.

I agree. John had the foresight to acquire the tooling and factory engineering drawings for these when they were being disposed of by Leyland Australia. It is testament to his integrity that he doesn't add on a huge 'Cooper S tax' when he prices them. The Australian Mini enthusiast community should be thankful.

Excellent John. Will be in touch in a few weeks. Thank you for persevering with this manufacturer to get us the best price. Worth the wait.

We can be annoyed with John for not acquiring all the body presses, cooper 'S' do dads and bits of treasured mini junk makers we all need now though! What was he thinking????

Hi John. will you have any flares for the Aussie GT? If I'm correct the front flares are not the same as the Cooper S and I would like a new set for my GT.
Please keep up the good work.
Regards Pete NZ

Yes Pete. They are to be made after the Cooper S flares.
