Sure was! the fuel crisis (around 76???) meant that fuel theft was rife...

I learnt a lesson very early thanks to a lockable fuel cap....I bought a near new Deluxe in 1966, changed a bunch of stuff under the bonnet and fitted a Drambuie locking fuel cap.

Went to fill up on the way home and found my brand new key did not fit the worn out old crappy excuse for a locking fuel cap  got home and looked under the bonnet...all my brand new bits had been changed for old crap...things like vacuum hoses, plugs, dissy cap, leads etc ...obviously, the Dealers apprentice needed them more then I did :!:

Nope...rang the Dealer, told him what had happened and that he wouldn't be seeing me again
