Hi,
just about to buy a new harness for my 1970 van. looking at the vin wire site it only lists a COOPER S MK.2 PVC-TAPED;HAS ALT.c EXT.REG. Will there be any changes required to fit my van? also any worth while additions like relays or extra fuses i should include?

thanks

The van harness will be longer, wont have door switches or interior light wires.

Contact Vinwire, they don't list every variation that they offer. As for alterations, additions etc, consider relays for the lights, they are well worthwhile. Fuses are pretty substandard in all Aussie Minis, and do you have any modern accessories like a wireless or perhaps you need to charge a portable telephone or satellite guidance system like some of the young people today?

Mine doesn't have any of those things, I'm with Alec on this subject.

Have a look at the Somerford Mini site below , they do a top quality harness , very hard to pick from original , you just have to work out which one you need , even with freight still much cheaper than buying here , and much better quality ......to see the price just click on buy now

I agree with AJ, plus be prepared to wait up to 3 months for vinwire.

I recently had one custom made in the UK for my Traveller. It was done by Autosparks. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the ones Somerfords sell. It was done to a very high standard (cotton braided) and came in about 40% cheaper than the local one - at least until I had to return the rear section which was for a van...

I waited about 3 weeks including delivery from the UK.
