Hello All,

Just have a look at the link.

There's quite a lot of information like this in the How-To forum.

I also moved the topic to Mini Chat. This is certainly very on-topic. Welcome to Ausmini!

This is the link Mick is referring to. There's a Mini Paint & Trim Colours topic in there.

If I don't pick a genuine colour, would it affect future value?

It probably depends more on how you are planning on restoring the car.

if its going to be a restoration to original condition, then yes, it will affect the value.

but if you are planning on keeping it long term and modifying it in other ways as well... then paint it what ever color you want.

It should has a compliance plate, does it state the original colour of the vehicle?

Original colour was a yellow, this model didn't record colour on compliance. It is currently blue but not a mini blue.

No compliance plate ever had the car colour. Colour is not a compliance issue.
They had a foil sticker adjacent to the compliance plate with the colour name.

Is it good enough to pick any blue from the colour charts above, or must I choose it from the year of my mini k (1971). I want it to be as original as I can.

If you want it to be an original as possible, then you would want the one to match your year as well.
Or that's the way I would of thought. But if its not purely for resale value/100% originality then pick another one from the charts that you like. - It's your car after all.

It really is a personal choice, it is your car. Unless you have major concerns about resale, if you want to keep to original BMC colors just pick the one you like the best does it really matter which year it comes from? Maybe pick one of the less common colors that are rarely seen these days and stand out from the crowd?
