I looking into a rear half cut Mini Van trailer and have a few questions!

First and most importantly, is it sacrilege to do this to a Mini Van?

What would be the basic empty weight of such a trailer?

I don't have any welding skill so can anyone recommend anyone in Perth who would be able to do such a job, or better still has anyone already made one or have one that's for sale?

Cheers,

Marty :D

Van trailers pop up on ebay probably once a month.
Usually half done and cheap, I'd investigate that.
Think there was one there this week, or on gumtree.

It's ok so long as it's not a restorable mini. Some people have been known to cut up half decent shells for panels and projects like this  .
If the mini shell has been in a front accident or is very very rusty then it's ok.

There's a van trailer on gumtree for sale at the moment I think!
I have one. It was built in 85 when the front of the van got written off.
As others have said don't do it unless the shell is a never going to see the road again.
Unless u find one done or half done.
Mine doesn't weigh anything, I can easily drag it up my driveway which has a slight incline by myself no problems and I'm no big body builder.

This is mine (Not for sale sorry - its behind my brothers car). It is very heavy for what it is (but I went a bit overboard in towbar a-frame strength) But it came in at 220kgs.

Built it to match my GT.

But please don't destroy a good van, as there are still plenty of trailers around for sale.

Cheers, and I promise not to destroy any vehicle that can still be driven or restored.
