hey people
thought i would be nice to the car to day and flush the cooling system seeing the heater stoped working again anyway now after i refilled the system i get a rather slow bubbling comming from the radiator and when you put the cap back on the revs die down. the head was off a three weeks ago could it be that it need ed a retorque sooner or do you think i have bigger problems
help.....

Probably too late now, but you should always retighten them, regardless of the `Monotorque' blurb on some of the packaging.
Sometimes they go down more, sometimes not- but I never take the risk of leaving it.
I tighten them, run until hot, tighten again. If it's my car I check again at 1,000 miles or so.
And for iron heads (Mini, early Holden etc) they should be redone HOT! So I was taught 40 years ago, anyhow. :wink:

BTW alloy heads are retightened when COLD.....

thank you i figured that might be the case, ive decided that i will take the motor out and give it a total refresh any way seeing the amount of smoke it blows most mornings
any way at least the heater works again :D
