The reason it goes to Carsales.com from Carpoint.com is that the two companies are owned by the same parent company which shares the advertisement information between all its relevant websites.

I wonder what makes it a 'Telecom' car? It was still called 'PMG' until the mid 70s.

Got to love the ill informed comments on the ute, "proabably the only genuine ute in australia", perhaps I should email him regarding the 3 genuine ones I know of here in WA alone.

He will be waiting a while to get $42K for it that's for sure but good luck to him for trying.

You can tell a factory ute and a panel van cut down to a ute by the back lights the factory ute has different back lights and lenses

If you really wanted to you could fit pickup tail lights, but there are other giveaways that you're looking at a chopped van. For example the rear tailgate of a pickup is vertical, whereas the van's leans forwards slightly, also there's a seam all the way round the rear of the cabin in a ute which is hard to replicate - often chopped vans look better finished than factory pickups. :D

For a long time pickup tailgates were unavailable so often chopped vans have fibreglass tailgates, or flat sheet metal (although the very early pickups had smooth tailgates too).

They should all have non-removable pressed metal grilles too, but sadly they often don't.

I know that ute, came via Mini Kingdom back in the day, The bloke that built it regrets selling ,
things you do when your wife is diagnosed with cancer.
It was never built to be original , yes it was built as a cooper s in a ute.
Considering this was restored 20 years ago, can't have been a bad resto to still even ask a price. even if it is high
Thanks

Are you sure about that? The tailgate looks slanted to me? Check the $42,000 ute's tailgate, note that it's perfectly vertical
