Hello all,
Anybody out there with a Cooper S from about car number 600 to 2100 has possibly two (correct) 5/16" holes in the drivers side rear seat brace to accept these spring metal clips rather than the spot welded tabs fitted to the later Cooper S cars.
To this day these clips have been prohibitively unobtainable, but there is a good old school toolmaker who is manufacturing perfect replicas in black cad spring steel.
I was looking for a pair for twenty years after my original ones were lost during the first respray, but now have a pair fitted to the car again & I'd defy anyone to pick them from the originals.
If you own one of these Cooper S cars & would like to make it more original, I can supply the e mail of the remanufacturer.
Being of the old school, he doesn't use e bay or the like....
Cheers!
