Ok as it say I'm having speedo trouble now the speedo cable is spinning but if I put the slightest pressure on the cable it just stops ?? Would it be the gear were the cable goes in the box on the way out ??

probably the 'square' bits gone round. Pull the inner out and check. If not you'll need to take outer off drive and look. If it all goes pear shaped and it is the drive, find someone with little hands to fit new one.

I had this problem, found that the plastic gear in the cable drive in the gearbox was loose on the metal shaft, so I managed to drill a tiny hole through both the wheel and spindle and pushed in a dressmakers pin, then trimmed it so it didnt interfere with the gearbox drive gear.
