What is the highest price ever actually paid for a Mini?

For that money I would want the correct front panel and wicker seats.

Very nice looking car but geez a lot of coin.

Something you could do fairly easily to a mini that has had a side impact to save it going to scrap? Hmmm...

Yeah but that would just be a chopped mini. Its the fact that this has the provenance that makes it special.

Given that a Ferrari 250gto sold for over US$38million with commission at the same auction, the Mini is cheap. But in reality it just says some have too much money.
The beach car however is probably more genuine than most of the expensive ex works rally Minis that bring serious money. But of course there will now be fake beach cars created in attempts to cash in on this one's auction price.

I think its reasonably well documented that there were only 16 built by the Uk factory, and the beach car register would be alert to 'new' beach cars suddenly being discovered. So hopefully it would be difficult to pass off a fake. People may want to built replicas though.
