Amazing but sad at the same time. At least they'll be reasonably well preserved when he sells up!

Its crazy...
I couldnt believe there was so many cars.
I really loved that nothing was restored, they all just looked like they had been driven in there and parked. They still mostly looked drivable still.

I had a bit of a chat to the guy . He didnt seem like he was ever going to sell anything. ... makes you wonder what he plans to do with it all once he passes away..
He was saying he has 20 something grandkids/ggreat grandkids I think. And they all get a 4door morris minor in his will as he has so many of them haha.

I had a chat to him about a very cool little 63 austin mini he had.
He told me that it was the first NEW car he ever bought . He got his brother to send it over to him from AUS.
He still had all his original sales documents. .. very cool.
Unrestored still in amazing condition.

Check out this one too, it's awesome!
I liked the Caddy with the `machine gun enabled' opening windscreen. 8)
It's north of Wellington.

Ok we are finally home so i can upload these photos off my camera

I will just upload them all.
I started to try and be a bit organised with shots at the start, but after a few minutes i was so in awe of the sheer amount of awesomeness everywhere i was just taking shots everywhere.
It wasn't overly well lit, and i am no expert with the camera, so that's why some pics seem a little dark. I have them all in massive resolution, so if you would like a closer look at anything in any of the pics let me know and ill upload a zoomed in crop of the original.

They are slowly uploading to photobucket, so here's a taste until they finish

Austin Gipsy (yes the weird spelling is correct!). It was the BMC attempt to capture some of the Land Rover market. Some models had a weird Moulton designed rubber suspension that gave a smooth ride on rough roads and a swaying ride on smooth roads!

And finally the mini's
Most of them were 70's/80's models not anything that early

But my favourite was this little 1963 austin mini tucked away in the corner.. mostly because of the story that he told me about it.
Image

He told me that this was the first ever new car he had bought. the original sales doc's and insurance stuff is on the bonnet. he apparently got his brother to send it over to him from AUS . it was a base model and he added all the extras onto it. the rear spats he custom fitted himself . he said they came off a Vauxhall of the same time ( i think) as he worked for them at a dealership and liked the look of them.
the interior looked Mint for the age of it. my pic of the interior didnt come out so well as it was a pretty dark corner of the shed.

And here's the man himself

I had a brief chat to him (wife and 3yr old waiting patiently). a really nice bloke. he seemed like the sort of guy that would be able to tell you a little story about each and every car he had . all 400 of them.
