Can anyone identify / translate this engine number?

LBB10476 - 100157

It's been stamped on a plate that's been riveted on top of the original engine number!

I would suggest that is actually the original engine no. Its how they did it in the UK... and maybe other OS markets.... When the engines were imported into Oz they ground off the head of the rawl pins and stamped the number on the block. The plate was then hung off one of the hoses with a
bit of tie wire.

Maybe Gold or Silver Seal replacement engine???

I think it is the right code for an SPI.

LBB means it's a service replacement, reconditioned engine IIRC
LBB10476 is a "Cooper" SPi engine, 10:1 CR, 63HP
