Hi all.

Carrying on a bit from this thread:

http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=85953&hilit=tyre+brand

So after much seaching most of the local tyre companies are offering Falken but a call to Falken by Goodyear reveal they are no longer making 12 inch tyres.

So all they could offer was Nankang. Although they are cheap I am not too keen on that so could anyone who has recently bought 16560R12 or similar post what and where they got them.

It is almost worth looking at 13 inch wheels but then they will be low profile ones and I am not overly keen on that. Any thoughts?

Otherwise it looks like I will have to get the $139 each A539's online and get them fitted locally. I am a bit annoyed it will cost more to re-shoe my Mini than it did to do my wifes Camry.

Thanks guys.

My local Bob Jane claims to still be able to get the Falken ZE912's in 165/60R12!

So Nankang $75 each fitted = $300
Falken $110? each fitted = $440
Yokos $139 each plus $18.50 each fitted. =$630

At this rate I'll be stuck with the Falken's...

I drive the Nankangs on a daily basis, with a second set of wheels mounted on A048. I'm extremely surprised how well the Nankangs actually grip. It's not amazing, but it isn't dreadful.

Has anyone got a picture of the tread pattern on the Nankang?

I'm getting a brand new set mounted in about 3 hours. I'll put up a pic tonight. The only bit that is unfortunate about Nankang is the 145 width. But if you put down as many km's as me, you appreciate need the economy (and throw on the semi-slicks when you want a bit of fun.)

Ok, that's maybe why I couldn't find the tyre. I was looking for 165/60R12.

What is available in an R-Spec tyre these days? The last time I bought tyres for my car, the Dunlop DO1J's were readily available.... Such an awesome tyre!!!
