Hi all
I have a grease gun that takes cartridges.
Just cleaned it out as it hasn't been used for many years (most modern cars are sealed for life) and I am trying to find out what size cartridges are available.
The one that came out of the gun is 105mm long and 38mm dia so it is probably an imperial size 4" x 1 1/2".
Any clues as to what is available.
I've unsuccessfully searched the Castrol site ?

Standard grease cartridges now are 400-450g, which are bigger than yours.
Bias Boating Warehouse also sells a small 85g one. Yours seems to be in between... :cry:

Might be time for a new gun, Macnaught and Alemite are both good reliable brands. Would last a lifetime, unlike the cheapos.

You can refill the old cartridge with new grease

In the "good old days" the cartridge was made of cardboard :-( so it is in poor condition.
Just might have to stump up for new gun.

In the good old days there were no cartridges you just filled the gun with grease out of a tin. What a messy job that is!

That's how I still fill mine up. Messy but no cartridge problems
