Can anyone tell me what size engine is in my
1976 clubby(998 or 1098),
the engine number starts with 99H834AJH

Was a 998 with smog head & air pump, when built, but many have had a 1098 crank put in since. i've got one... J_A_M's got one.. :lol:

Thanks for the info guys.When I bought the
car the owner did say it was a 998 motor,
but after looking at ebay this morning I had
my doubts as the car on ebay was built very
close to mine.
Mine still has all the polution gear fitted ,it is totally original.

I have not been able to start the engine yet.
Tried with a set of jumper leads, engine turns
but will not start,I think theres no spark.
Anyway I am concentrating on the body first
then I'll remove the head and convert it to unleaded.
I presume to check the air pump all you need to feel
is some air coming out of it with engine running?
