ive done a search but i didnt realy find out what i kinda wanted to know.
with the long centre branch extractors what r the power gains over 3-1 extractors is there any or its not noticeable. im pretty sure that with certain zahust setups the extractors give high end power or low end power if so what r the lcb's good for and what r the 3-1 good for?
Regards.
DARKEN.

lcb's give you more top end power than the 3to1's but the 3to1's give a nice low end torque so its up to you what you want

im pretty sure thats right

From what I read in Vizard there is not that much between them. But as benjamin said the LCBs have a bit on the 3-1s up top but they give a little away at lower revs. The preference seems to be for LCBs though.
I have been wondering if everyone with LCBs knows something I don't  I like torque :D and don't rev my mini very much so probably wouldn't use the top end power gains.

Best exhaust mod is putting on an RC40 IMO after that then do the extractors but by most accounts the silencer will make the bigger difference. :D

It all depends on what size engine you have too. If you have a big bore/stroker engine (like me), then you'd want a set of LCBs with a bigger bore width. I'm using crappy ol' 3-1s at the moment, and whilst it runs beautifully, it doesn't quite have the power it should, especially when you put your foot down. Plus, my cam's power range is from 3500-8250 revs, and my car loves it around 3500-4000. Since it loves these higher revs, it would love a bit more from the extractors.

If I was you, I'd probably ditch the 3-1s and get a set of LCBs with a small bore width, which is basically the best of both worlds if you have an 1100 or something.

Oh, and when I refer to 3-1s, I mean the ones that join together high up, found on older Minis, and NOT the hardcore racer 3-1s which join up underneath the chassis and are wide enough to stick your fist into. :D LOL!
