I know of a restoration on a 1962 Super Mini Delux, my question is, what makes it a super delux, now the historians can use some of their wealth of knowledge, all I have been told is that it was known as "the poor mans Cooper" is that right and what period items should he be looking at for the resto.

In the UK they had the normal poverty model Mini and then they had a fancier Mini called the Super De-Luxe with better trim, a heater, inside door handles, etc.

Australia just had the normal poverty Mini 850 but they did use the Super De-Luxe inside door handles instead of the pull cords.

Some of the early cars were identical to a cooper except no discs or cooper motor and I know the Austin ones had vertical bars on the grille

Cool, keep the info coming I might pick up something he doesn't know about his resto, Google is OK for some things but the knowledge found on here is something else.
