I am intending of fitting a head light relay.

Where is the best place to fit the relays

Under the bonnet / dash

Considering options.

Do they make a dual relay thats not the size of a brick

Thanks

I have duel relay headlight harnesses for sale, complete set up. Mount under guard, under bonnet or behind dash. Simple plug and play set up. Ebay blokes have them at $125. For Ausmini members $50. Oh yes not the size of a brick. lol
EDIT: no need to cut the original harness with my kit.

I recently re-installed/moved my relays and fuses. They were in the engine bay on the drivers inner guard and now they're under the passangers lower dash rail. I got sick of looking at the "mess" in the engine bay, keep that in mind.

it doesn't really matter where you put them but as a general rule shorter cable runs are better and somewhere where it is not going to get wet splashed hit or covered in oil

I like the engine bay. You can keep use standard wiring (Blue/Red, Blue/White) in the cabin to drive the two relays near the fuse box. You can take a heavy gauge wire from the fuse to the relays next door, and then a short run from the relays to the lights. Its the easiest to fit.

I use one standard relay for Low and one for High, its easier to get the standard single contact relays from an autoshop that way, but that's just me.

Don't forget to upgrade the ground from the lights to the chassis too.

I fitted 2 relays to the upper lip of the front valance on the right side in the engine bay, where the grille stops at the lower end. This is where the headlight connectors are for the lights themselves, so I didnt need to extend any wires.I cut off the bullets on the headlight loom and fitted spade terminals. I used 2 x 40 amp 4 pin relays (about the size of an ice cube) that I bought from AutoBarn. All I needed to do then was to run heavy feed wires from the starter relay to the headlight relays.(Short distance). Now I dont have heavy current running through the dipswitch!!!!!!
