Post subject:  Sapphire Blue Mini Pics

Hi,

The original color of my 68 Deluxe is Sapphire blue, it is painted Dusk Blue at the moment by the look of it. Looking at returning it to the original color during the rebuild.
Has anyone got a picture or a link to a Sapphire Blue Mini at all to see what it would look like ?

Thanks

Stewart.

Hi Stewart,

My mini is Sapphire Blue

Not many around in that colour I believe it's unique to 1968

Cheers

Hi Chris,

Thanks for that, they are right it is really nice.
Looks good with the white roof too which I was thinking about.

I see you pull the helmet on and it does the "go" as well as the "show".

Thanks lads for the kind words Mick, Scoop,

Unfortunately Stewart the situation is all show for my mini, one of the pictures was taken at the ozmini50 at Wakefield Park Raceway but was only a parade lap and the other was on display at the QLD Mini Muster by the previous owner. I am ashamed to say that it is a trailer queen

Loopy - the interior is boring black trim.

When I saw the pic at the track I was a little surprised as only very talented people or very rich people (perhaps both) race a pristine car like that.
So I can't blame you for not putting it on a track.
As you can see it is admired by others, and if it brings pleasure to you then there is no shame in looking after it.

I had the pleasure of welding a bit more on mine the other day, and finished rebuilding the grille.
Getting there.

Thanks so much guys I was checking which blue I wanted to go. Sapphire Blue it is. Very helpful, it's hard to imagine it from scanned paint samples. I know this may not be super accurate but now I'll get a sample made up to confirm it :)
