Post subject:  Rear Wheel Brake Bleeding

Ive recently had my brake master cylinder overhauled. I also noticed this a few years ago when I bled my brakes back then. What happens is..... I usually just bleed the system with my one man bleeder kit first just to get the ball rolling, then get the Mrs to help out by pumping up the pedal and holding it down, I jump under the car, starting at the wheel furthest from the M/C, release the bleed nipple into a tube/jar.

What Ive found though, when I use my one man kit and just pump away with the rear bleed nipple open, I can fill my little jar up within a few decent strokes. However when the Mrs pumps the pedal 5 times, then I release the nipple, I get basically no fluid at all??? Its the same deal at both rear wheel cylinders. One man kit, plenty of fluid, pump the pedal and release, no fluid.....? The fronts bleed no worries regardless of method.

Could this have something to do with the brake bias valve? The rear brakes are 100% working once everything is sealed up.

If you press too hard on the pedal the valve locks the rears off. Just push lightly, should work OK.

Ahhh, yeah I thought that might be the case. She pumps the pedal up hard 5 times, then stands on it. Makes sense. Works ok for the fronts obviously.
