Is there a glue to use that will work to stick the glass to the rubber and the rubber to the metal track?

Or is this just a sympton and the problem is too much friction between the glass and the bailey channels? I can slide it OK provided I don't let it get out of level. It has a bit of sideways slop and I cant move the track enough to take this out.

Also,
where do the door check straps bolt onto (door side)? Our doors don't have door pockets? should they?

thanks,
Frank

pass on the window, I've never had a glass and track separated

the door check straps bolt to the door pocket! there's a little bracket thingy that goes inside the door pocket and stiffens it while giving the pocket liner something to sit on

oops...

Use sika flex on the window.

Ive had the window separate from the track before. I pulled it all apart, cleaned the rust from the track, glued the rubber to the window, clamped the track tighter in a vice and glued that onto the rubber on the glass. All good.
Put some graphite in the vertical window tracks it might cut down the friction.
For the glue, anything will work thats rubber safe, its mainly used to increase friction on the clamp joint.

For the check strap, you can drill 2 holes in the inner door skin behind the door card and attach the straps there since you have no pockets.
The door card will hide the screws and ends.
Works for me.

Has the door had panel work done? In the car I've just put back together the well-meaning but non-mini panel beater had closed up the window frame by maybe 5mm when it was reattached to the door. Meant the windows would not fit in at all. Body had been painted so rather than re-do all that I had new glass made up, slightly shorter. That's your worst case scenario!

I concur your honor.
Just don't ever try to separate them, as you most likely wont.
