Hello again

In my effort to have my car registered here in WA, I need to have an immobiliser installed, thereafter inspected over the pits. Can anyone recommend a particular engine immobiliser, installer and inspection site in the metro area that are possibly mini friendly?

All suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Ross

Hi Ross

I have never had to have an immobiliser fitted in any mini I have had regoed, but from memory you have a rover so maybe different rules for later cars.

I do have a mini friendly inspector up here in Wangara, dont know if its too far for you.

Cheers
Jason

From the DoT website;

"When does a vehicle require an immobiliser to be fitted?

On the grant of a vehicle licence.
When transferring the ownership of a vehicle."

I also don't come under the exempt list either. So im pretty certain im outta luck. :(

I wouldnt bother with it, pretty sure my man would pass it without one. Like I say he has never asked me to fit one before I hate the stupid things. Only purpose they serve is to have twits break into your house for keys instead of just stealing your car and be on their way.

On the sale of a car or registration of a car younger than 25 years needs to have an immobiliser fitted.

Give me a call mate and I will get you sorted.

Basically most cars after 2000 had factory fitted immobiliser so no need to fit one and anything 25 yrs old or 1989 doesnt need one as it is classed as classic.

I have fitted many immobilisers and alarms in my time as a car audio and security installer. Probabaly in excess of 5000 over 6 years..... and have fitted many too minis. .
