Anyone have any tips on importing parts from the UK. I have gotten some quotes on shipping the parts straight from the company, wondering if there are cheaper ways out there. Cheers.

I've got stuff from Mini spares, they're good with packing stuff as small as possible to save on Post size wise. Anything bigger than regular then Huddersfield (?) Spares are extreemly helpful. I got a rear body panel, the complete tailights/boot hole one from them. They very neatly cut it with cutoff disc, packed and sent it, cost $58 about 2 years ago. Not having a go at anyone but it still ended up about 1/2 what it would have cost here.

Thanks Peter, that website is good. Unfortunately they don't have the parts I'm after ( a spoiler and a carbon fibre pod dash :) ). I can't believe how expensive internal door hinges are :?

Hello,

I've used ArcAngels http://www.the-arc-angels.co.uk
And CarbonWeezel http://www.carbonweezel.co.uk

Both do really nice carbon, I'm not sure what it would be like for postage to Oz, most carbon parts are not kept on the shelf, a few are. maybe the pod dash but unlikely the spoiler, Give them a call and enquire.

Ok,

CarbonWeezel: Boot floor and radiator bracket

ArcAngels: Roof, front end, door cards F&R, parcel shelf, bumpers, bonnet, boot lid, battery box, Fuel filler blank, Reg surround and dashboard..think thats it haha..

Some parts take a while, for example my boot lid, with it being double skinned it took a bit...

i have photos close up of the quality and weave if you need any info, just PM me or something.

Milly

The weights of some of those carbon parts are astonishing! 400g for a pair of bumpers!

Carbon Weezel are great and will ship to Australia although I don't recall the cost plus the parts I got were small (for a Ducati).

P.S. Sorry to thread Jack! Milly, great job where did you get the thermostat housing and engine steady? I want one 8)

Thanks milly, your car looks awesome, I've checked out both those sites but neither do the carbon fibre pod dash unfortunately (well there was one but over 500pounds then postage  ). Arc angels have nice clubman carbon fibre bonnets but will cost $1000aus in total! I was after a spoiler from abs motorsport and they have a nice dash but they're getting back to me with a quote for the dash.

Oh ok, What kind of dash pod is it your after? like a centre binnacle or something different?

Yea sometimes you can catch them when they have deals on etc..it can be expensive!

I'm from the UK and know quite a few people so if i get an idea of exactly what it is you need i might see one come up for a good price and i can let you know.

Thanks for the comments about the car!

[/img] I like this one from abs Motorsport, it's simple so I can modify it to add gauges and things :)

Thanks milly that would be awesome! Do you or anyone else here know if that dash would be road legal?, I did think about just getting the centre console part and trying to fix it to a backing plate rather than one whole piece but don't thin it would look as good :?
