Hi folks, looking to buy some new seats for the mini. Minispares.com currently have a 15% sale going on at the moment as most of you may be aware, I am keen on ones like these because I love the buckety look. http://minispares.com/product/Classic/I ... 0to%20shop Just wondering if anyone else has them and recommends them? Or has advice on anything else? I've never sat in ones like these. Thanks |

Can't comment on the seats sorry - but with that 15% sale, I had just put in a hefty order THE DAY before they put the sale on. Happened last time too haha |

I had them in my mini but they were a PITA when getting into and out of the car. The padding is firm and they are a firm fit, particularly as the side "wings" tend to wrap around you. I'm also fairly small and although they fitted me well, they would be a tight squeeze for a bigger person. If you only drive occasionally they might be OK but for daily use I'd recommend "normal" seats. I sold mine and bought some wider and softer reconditioned Leyland high backs-much more comfortable ![]() |

ive got them, make sure you get the right rails, for a clubman get the floor locking. There a pretty good seat though they arent suited to the larger person. im a 34 inch waist and they are firm to get into. There like any bucket seat to get in and out of and for the money you cant complain, l like the look without head rests but it worries me if l ever have a serious accident with no neck/ head support. |

Interesting, definitely food for thought! I would probably need to sit in a few different types I think before deciding. Yeah Wallie, would still need to buy the rails separately, works out to be around 235 AUD for 1 seat and 1 rail. Would need to get a quote on shipping! |

Cheers Dave, It's for a '62 850, so I wouldn't need the locking ones? And I'm luckily a skinny guy so they might be alright. I agree, I like the look of them too, but will be driving pretty cautiously at speed for fear of snapping my neck... |

I have them in mine. They look good and are not a bad seat except there is NO padding in the backs, on mine anyhow. If you hunch forward, your tailbone hits the bottom frame inside the seat back. ![]() |

Last time I went to Revolution Racegear in Brisbane (near Ikea Logan), they had a Cobra Classic in stock, so that might be an option if you wanted to try one. |

I think they must stretch out over time. I remember when I first got mine they were very tight and now they don't feel as such. Mine fell apart though and they provided me with some new covers that are still in the box They are paint to get in and out of, but once in are comfortable |

I have the Clubman version - basically the same but with a high back and belt slots. I would not buy these mail order. I did and I deem myself very lucky because mine "fit" (me). I have tried a friend's car with the same seat and it does not fit.... They do (did?) come in different versions (slim fit/chunky fit) and there seems to be a fair bit of Manufacturer's dimensional tolerance involved... I would definitely want to try the seat I was buying for size. Also, they are a bulky package - shipping is OMG (several times the seat price). Frames are extra... I find mine quite comfy although they do lay back quite bit and (obviously) there's no adjustment (beyond wedging the rear mounts) Cheers, Ian |
