For those that don't know wtf Wombat is talking about he's talking cylinder head. How much can come off I'm guessing that he means skimming?

These days I'd not take more than .075" off any smallbore head. They are all old, and pitted inside with corrosion. Make the deck much thinner and the head gasket starts blowing.
