Hey Guys Im looking for a body shop in Adelaide to replace some panels and paint the van for me, I've been to a couple of " Restoration " shops but don't want to fork over 20-30K for body work and paint ( whilst i know there work is good it's just not in my budget ), I'm in no hurry so maybe someone retired who's looking for some work?? Any way let me know who you have used, looking for some recommendations... David |

Did you check All Car Restorations out? They are at Edinburgh North. I am thinking of taking the Monaco there - it will be a bare shell. I am after a pristine job inside and out and underneath, rather than a cheap one this time. They do all the metal work and then have someone do the paint. |

So the van is off to the shop in the new year, went with Brett from Concours Customs in the end, it will get media blasted on the areas that won't warp and bare metal stripped every where else, getting the sunroof hole filled in ( looking for a roof section ) and I'm considering filling in the side windows too ( a little concerned about visibility ) . In the end she will be road registered but i would like to still compete in track days, hill climbs and some road rallys Can any one help me with some regulations, build requirements etc for racing in South Australia? Totally new to this and just looking for some guidance as i don't want to spend money on something only to find I've wasted it..... |

he wasn't the cheapest by any means but if you look at them on FB their work is exceptional, I'm not expecting any change from 15K for body work and paint... to paint a full sized car they are normally 20-30K.. i have heard of guys spending 50k there on paint and panel.. |

No, hasn't gone down yet, been spending money on the house and on the engine so the body is just sitting around at the moment.. |

I've had mine to Minisport to do welding type prep (panel replacement, RH tank hole anf brackets, flare backings etc etc). Then they outsource the final prep and paint. Not sure who does that (it is a family business) but they have a month or two waiting list. Apparently they are good quality and decent price, the trade off being time. I guess it's the old saying: Fast, Cheap, Good. You can only pick two. |
