Hey Guys,

I need to get an engine shipped from Liverpool in NSW to Adelaide. Any suggestions on who to use? Ive rang the big players and they seem to be put off because its an engine and they are worried it will leak.

has anyone moved an engine before , who did you use, what did it cost?

Cheers

DD

Try e-go I've had pretty good quotes from them shipping engines to Perth

Tell them it will be drained of oil and wrapped in plastic then strapped to a pallet

The big players simply aren't interested in shipping one off items for the general Joe Public you need to go via a handling agent like e-go or Pack & Send!

Hi there

I've used both E-Go and Northline Couriers to go from Melbourne to Sydney. Both occasions I had the engine boxed up on a pallet. E-Go was very cheap, but for a bit extra northline offered $5500 insurance if anything went wrong (not that anything did, but it is nice for peace of mind)

Hope that helps.

James

Im finding most of the guys i ring want it in a full crate, not wrapped, want it on a frame so it can't move about, want it drained of all fluids then want it set in a drip tray swell... makes it almost not worth it..

Look freight is a hub and spoke system and your freight goes through 3 different trucks minimum and they won't all be the same company. They want it on a skid or pallet so the forklift can shift it. If one freight company passes onto another dangerous goods (oil and petrol) without telling them then the liability all rests with the originator freighter.
I use Cameron's on account and they get my stuff around at reasonable rates.

I had an engine, box etc freighted from Sydney to the far north QLD for about $300 with e-go. Thought that was a bargain. It was strapped to a skid and oil drained.

Do these companies ship complete cars interstate as well? Wondering what it would cost to bring a car from Canberra to Adelaide.

Send a PM to Mkb1275
He works in vehicle transport and quoted me a decent price on getting my mini transported from Wollongong to QLD.

E-go.

I've shipped heaps of nmini bits including gearboxes (Melb to ACT, 25 bucks) and whole front panels (From WA no less, 75 bucks). An engine won't be a problem. Strap it to a half pallet wrapped in black building plastic from bunnings.

I got my 1275 strapped to a pallet and wrapped in plastic to be sent over to Tassie from Melbourne.
Big shipping company got it down for me for nothing!!
Thanks dad!!
It's good to have a family member high up in a shipping company!!
But conditions still applied and it had to have no fluids and had to be wrapped in plastic and on a pallet.

I shipped a motor from Sydney depot of e-go to address in Melb in a pallet box I made. Used them several times. Good prices and always worked. You just need a printer for the consignment note.

E-go are great and I have been using them for years. You can select what option you want, ie depot - depot, door - depot, depot - door, door - door. If your a platinum account holder as well, you get even cheaper rates as when you go to pay (paypal accepted) you get a further discount.

You can make half pallets and I do this quiet regularly to strap engines on. As long as a fork lift can get under it so it can be loaded and unloaded from the trucks.

E-go also provide online tracking, insurance ect
