I bought a Morris 1100S power unit without a distributor, and I have collected a few spares over the years. I'm seeking advice on the missing distributor, and its suitability to convert to electronic plus any advice on sourcing.

With thanks in advance :?

Considering these motors were assembled from 1967? on, I would guess they used an Oz made 29D.
Parts are getting rare, nobody is making 29D dizzy caps anymore.
I'd put a 43D or 45D in it instead. With a Powerspark module or similar. In 2014, points and condensers suck. :)

[edit] John Smidt has seen more of these motors than I have, and would know for sure. Most I've bought were incomplete.
We owned a Morris 1300 (same motor as 1100S automatic) in the 80s, I can't recall exactly what dizzy it had, but I `think' it was a 29D.

Or Buy one of my 45D electronic ones with a choice of straight or side entry cap for $150.00, post free too. And support members of this forum and their business. We try hard to keep quality Mini Electrical parts available for the right price. Contact me for a list of our parts .
Thanks for supporting my business.
