I am about to strip and rebuilding a front subframe (dry) and it looks like the mounting bolts on the towers will need replacing. Before I get to far into the rebuild is it possible to replace these bolts once the cone has been removed?? |

Hi cogs I'm fairly certain that dry subframes use studs on the towers, so they can be removed with the cones in place. |

It will be great if thats the case will have a closer look tomorrow. I just did not want to get too far into the job only to find out that the subframe was U/S just because of rusted bolts. Thanks for the advice |

Cogs. Just pulled a front frame apart last week. The top studs can be hard to get out. I,d recommend WD40 overnight. Then,at least two Vice Grips locked on HARD. Grab both gripes and try and rock it slightly back and forth. If you get it moving, more WD40. Back and forward continuously. Cheers Alex. PS: What state you in? |
