Hi,
Need some assistance re fuel inlet manifolds. I have a set of twin 1 1/4 SU's to fit to my 1098 motor.
Will a 12G2463 fuel manifold be suitable for a 12G202 head? The head is not modified.
Also, what size needles should I be using in the SU's?
Thanks.
Dave

1098s with twin 1.25" SUs usually go well with either M or AH2 needles.
Any twin SU, 30deg manifold will be fine.
If it has location rings, the head's manifold face can easily be bored to 1-3/8" dia to fit these. Otherwise, align it with the ports then fit a couple of small dowels to locate it. Some locate on the studs, that works fine too.

[edit] angle added.

It will be type that aligns with the port rings.

Thanks for the advice. It does have location rings which are larger than the intake ports on the head. The rings can be removed so i might use small dowels to align it.
Just another question re SU needles. How do I know what needle is fitted to my SU's? Do they have markings to indicate what size they are?
Thanks.

Yes, on the top end of needle that is inside the damper there should be a marking stamped.
