Canada is often referred to as The Great White North...not so much this year. No snow on our local hills, rather skimpy elsewhere, temperatures well above seasonal averages...but tis very nearly Christmas, so wishing all under the Southern Cross the very best at Christmas and into the New Year!ROO is tucked into the garage however the heater was only on for a few days when temps dropped briefly to O-5C overnight. Most of the bits are now in hand to complete ROO's new 1293cc build...we'll look at the tranny and see what is needed when the 1098 unit is split. It will be rebuild and get both 3.44:1 FD and pot joint outputs...maybe pressurized layshaft...for the power increase.
The 1098 got up the 5,000 foot climb from Sheridan over Granite Pass into the Bighorn Basin in Wyoming but it was slow work. Climbing the Bighorn Mountains to the pass is referred to as a 5,000 foot climb "on a ladder" to RVers versus "a long ramp" to the pass to the south. Same on the long climb over Kootenay Pass 2 days from home last July...the 1098 did it but slowly.
