To fit a Elder 8 Port Head on a 1275 Motor
Can You Use:
Standard Length Push Rods
Standard Distributor
Standard Fuel Pump - to Feed 2 x Side Draught Webers
Standard Radiator
Standard Cam
What mods are needed to fit in the engine bay?
Are these heads reliable once set up?
Is there a big difference in performance over a standard 12G940 head?

Also, will a Rod change gearbox mount in the same location as a Remote gearbox on the floor or does it have different brackets and mounting location?

I have heard people claim a mild power increase by simply bolting the crossflow head on which does make sense seeing as they are designed to have better air flow than the old five port heads.
The majority of people do spend some extra time/cash on the crossflows to make them flow much better than std setup. Any head will benefit from a port and polish and maybe larger valves and rocker mods, it just depends on your budget, what the engine will be used for and the specs of the engine/cam.

I believe the Elder 7 port flows better than the 8 port due to less turns in the ports.
