You'll get over it when you get your next one!

I wouldn't mind the BMW MINI Cooper S as a consolation prize though...

Thanks guys.
I suppose I can't complain too much as the John Cooper Works in the background is the daily driver.
It's funny though - mucking around with the classic and driving it on weekends actually felt more fun to me. Every time I drove it, it always brought a smile to my face and was surprisingly reliable for a 32 year old car.
I now understand why they create such a passion with you all.
I'm so glad I can now say I've owned a classic mini.

Unfortunately the classic was my toy extravagance car and was sold to help pay for the wife's new car to carry the growing kids.

I have to say though, even though the BMW mini is nothing like the original, it still keeps the feeling alive today. I'm sure when the original cooper was released in the 60's it was an awesome giant killing fun car compared with the cars of the day. What BMW has done today (especially with the JCW versions) is exactly the same. There aren't too many affordable modern cars on sale today which drive like a modern MINI and that's a good thing with the world heading towards boring Eco cars.

You're probably right about the Bini, they're good cars, the thing thats erts me is the fact they called it a mini and it certainly isn't. They should have called it an Austin 1800 mk5.
