Hi, what size needle should I be using with a 1.5inch single su on a fairly standard 998?

Well it's got a .090" main jet. It should run one of the .090" family of needles.
I put a CP4 needle in a 998 recently that had an HS4 (1-1/2") carby with a sports filter on, it's running fine.
[edit] this is a fixed needle. I don't like swinging needles, they wear the jet out.

MiniSpares Stage 1 kit for 998 uses NEEDLE AAU SWINGING, STAGE ONE USE. I had one of these on my 998 and it worked just fine :)

I'm using the same AAU with a complete minispares stage one kit on my 998

I used the needle that came with my stage 1 kit, but it was miles off. It needed a lot of filing to get it good - it was fine at idle and high revs, but leaned out on the mid-range. Mine was a standard 998 with a 1.5" carb.
