Hello,
Just wondering if anyone knows of oil system schematic(s) for the A series engine?

I am interested to see it regardless, but in particular am keen to find out what pressure might be present in the oil cooler lines - would it be guage pressure / PRV pressure?

Cheers
Matt

Yes pressure in oil cooler lines = gauge pressure = PRV pressure [+ the pressure drop across filter media (a few psi)].

I have a cutaway picture of the A series block oilways, I'll post it when found.

Thanks Doc.
I've found a nifty "Z"hose from Mackay (the company, not the place) to use to facilitate the tight bends (I fitted an oilstat), and it is 250psi burst pressure, but working pressure is said to be only 1/4 or 1/5 of that.
I imagine it'll be right, but what would you say about it?

Cheers
Matt

It should be OK.
Max oil pressure is less than 100psi, and it's steady.

I use Pirtek hydraulic return line hose, MPH08 for cooler lines. It was rated 400psi, now is 500psi. It bends well without kinking.
It is textile braided, not steel. Used with push-on fittings BF1-0808P (1/2" BSP). Or you can get Pirtek to crimp regular hydraulic fittings on.
Looks like this- my 1412 stroker on GR's engine dyno:

This site explains it quite well, plenty of supporting pics : http://www.nonlintec.com/sprite/lubrication/

Also in Viz's (TBLASE) book there is a line drawing schematic.

cheers,

Jacob
