I'm getting close to registering my 74 clubman yet i still dont have a heater solution. I was wondering a few things

1) Do you need to have a heater for a 74 clubman or can you legally not need one? I know the 71 was an option.
2) If the answer is yes, what are the options for a heater box. Original or after market.
3) Has anybody installed an after market heater in the small space that a mini has up front.

Thanks

All clubmans were fitted with heaters, easiest & cheapest thing would be to refit a club man heater.

Not sure if the heater itself is required, but modern cars do need windscreen demisters. I think this requirement came into place in 1971, and the heater acts as the demister, so heater required (somebody else please chime in if my date is wrong).

I have heard of people just using 12v computer fans to get by, but surely you would want a heater anyway?

Easiest way is to get a 2nd hand unit, something like this: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/green-va ... 1066146409

Clubman heaters are still pretty common. I have 1 or 2 here in Sydney if you can't find one locally.

I concur with Irish the ADR came in in 1971 and only requires a windsrceen demister not actually a heater.

When I saw that link from drmini I was a little worried as to what sort of site might come up. Fair to say I was a bit disappointed when all i was was a long black hose !!!

I have one of those ebay ceramic heaters, and it will actually demist (part of) the windscreen.
It's enough to pass rego & can be fitted under the dash blowing up through the drivers side demist vent.

Definitely will not keep you warm!
