In case you can't get one (or you can't get it to work because the threads are stuffed) you can swap over to hilos without a compressor tool. If your cones are pancakes you can just jack it up, take off the shock and push down on the control arm and the knuckle joint will pop out.

Not sure about putting new ones back in, but I've heard you can put them back in by winding the hilos all the way in. I've only done it with good 2nd hand cones.

If your cones are still good and the above doesn't work, you can take off the control arm, but that's a bit more work. That's how I did it, and checked out the condition of my control arm bearings and gave everything s good clean at the same time.

I find that a cone compressor is required to put the new ones in as they are much bigger than old shagged ones. Even with Hi Los as small as you can get them.

just weld the appropriate bolt (1/2 UNF from memory) onto a length of threaded rod grind it round so it fits down the hole, add a large washer and you have a cone compression tool.

It wouldn't happen to be the dual metric/imperial one would it?
