Post subject:  Removal of the Timing cover Pulley

HI guys, got most the car stripped and trying to prise the pulley off to do the timing cover gasket that is leaking.. how hard or is there a trick to removing the pulley?

2 screwdrivers works unless it's been Loctited on. Then you might need a puller.

when I had a stubborn one I drilled 2 handy holes in my flywheel puller :)

Thanks guys, got it off and back on.. The only issue is the lower one wont tighten up. it just keeps going around and around. yes it the right size, I ended up using a special gasket maker goo, as I didn't have any timing seal gaskets... any ideas what I could do? it screws in, and when its about to torque up, it just keeps going around and around.

Not much room there to do in situ, but when stripped, I have drilled 17/64" then tapped 5/16" UNF in the past for a bigger bolt.
I have a right angle drill with a chopped off drill bit. 8)

that one is a bugger because there's not much room behind it, but you can use a longer bolt and a nut on the other side - one of mine is like that, except it's the top one at the back so bolt length doesn't matter

you might be able to grind down a nut to fit in the gap
