Firstly sorry to use bad language but he was extactley what I descride him as. I was on Canterbury Road opposite Wiley Park about to cross King Georges Road when a new monaro AOG 10K pulls up and the guy in the passenger seat starts talking at me through the glass so I slid the window open and he asks

"hey mate is it for sale"
NO
"you painted it"
YES
"you want to sell it"
NO
"GIve you 5 grand cash"
No
"10 grand cash now"
ITS INSURED FOR TWELVE
"your to big to fit in a mini"
SO ARE YOU (he was bigger than me now thats a big boy)
"I want it for my cousin 15 cash"
NOT FOR SALE
"20 now come on"
SORRY

The lights changed and I get the death stare and intimidatory point and swerve, thanks boys.

ning nong

Last time that happened a 4x4 full of boys with a middle eastern appearence tried to run me off the road when I wouldn't sell the car whilst they tried to negotiate a sale driving at 80 km/ph.

Any similar incidents out there on the roads

So what's the go with all that?

Do they actually want to buy the car you reckon or maybe rip it off?

I've had a car load of kids swerve AT ME in traffic (cumberland Hwy), just because it's a nice restored car - thinking they're funny by pretending to smash into it. They are the type that you hope wrap themselves around a telegraph pole in my opinion. And before anyone flames me for the last comment, this incident was two months after I had spent 10 yrs restoring it to concours winning condition - and no, its not a mini.

Why would we flame you for that?

It's called natural selection. Carload of dickheads plows into a telegraph pole. They've done everyone a favour as long as
a) they don't take any innocents with them and
b) they haven't re-produced yet.

Now who's gonna get flamed?

Bob.

Ive never heard of that happening before.

I have only twice been the victim of someone trying to drive me off the road. Once on my CBR and once in my 351 XF.

I wasnt worried about the XF as it was just a fast piece of crap but I shat myself and got out of there in a hurry. Mmm 351 power. That guy had some serious road rage issues and I had no idea what I did.

I hope the monaro driver gets whats coming to him. Preferably a Mack truck that does the same to him.

I helped out a few young girls on the Pacific Hwy at Gordon, they were driving along minding there own business when a commodore full of P plate woop nuts started giving them serious greif, swerving at them, hanging out the windows trying to grab them, so i went up the left lane hoped over into the right lane that the commodre was in the jumped on the brakes, commodore ended up on the wrong side of the road, all good i say.

By the way did i mention i was in 46 tonne's of semi trailer at the time :D

The young ladies were very appreciative of my help

I would assume the young lads in the coomodre have been wiped out by natural selection (thanks Bob) by now.

Those idiots are in the same mould as the morons who cry when their friends die in a stolen car when being chased by the cops.

No idea, no respect and no sense of responsibility.

I'll stop now before I get really p*ssed off!!! :x

You know what pissed me off about that whole scenario?? Everyone was crapping on about the people that died etc etc.

What about the poor guy who had his car stolen? I think he was the REAL victim!!!!

Bob.

There are A LOT of idiots out there steve. I've been asked the "how much" question many times, it's like they're way of complimenting you or something

Usually when they ask me, just don't be agressive Steve, instead of a "NO" you say "Naah man, this is my pride and joy! Took 2 years to get it like this, I will never sell it" and they will respect you for that.

Hey it worked for me, I always say: "No man, I'm in love with this car, it's my bay beee!" and they nod and tell you it's sweet!

Anyway that guy probably needs to be removed from the gene pool asap

i was overtaking a semi that was sitting on 90 in a 100km/h zone. i put my blinker on early to go around it, planted it, went over, and a guy in an Integra didn't want me in front of him, and had planted his foot in the right lane to close the gap. i moved over anyway, and he was right on my ass. i stuck to doing 100, and he threw his lights on high beam, which pretty much blinded me. once i was clear, i jumped in the left lane, and threw my finger up. they didn't take too kindly, wound their window down, and started throwing all sorts of crap at my car, before then swerving at me, and then planting it. i got the last laugh though, because i reported the whole incident to the police. :)

i just don't understand why you'd be stupid enough to swerve at someone. i mean it's bad enough if you write your car off, because you won't be insured, and in this case, his car was worth a lot more than mine. but then you have the chance of killing someone as well. why throw your life away for something so stupid?

they sure were. there was plenty of space to move over in the right lane - i would say a good 8-10 (normal) car lengths. i had already begun moving when the guy decided he wanted to speed up to try and stop me. if an accident had resulted, he would have been hitting me flush on the rear, not on the side. i'm not going to go back to my lane and jam my brakes on because some turkey in a sports car doesn't like the fact i'm not going to be trapped behind a slower moving vehicle.

and as for the finger, considering i had copped a good 20 seconds of his high beam while negotiating passing a large truck, i think he earned it. it's not my proudest moment, but i don't shy away from the fact i did it - either to the police, or to you folks on the forum. i guess you would have just let him go idly by, right?

Many years ago I was in my little blue cooper with two mates. Some clowns in a bubble shaped laser decided to sit on my arse on a back lane near Forest Lake outside of Brisbane. They sat there for kilometers with their high beams on in the back window and would not be shaken off. I think just they were doing it just for fun.
So we led them down this back road faster and faster until we came to a really sharp off camber bend we knew of and we led them through that at some phenomenal speed. We went so fast through it that I was lucky to get through it in my own car let alone them, and the mate in the back seat was so concerned he pushed his way up to the high side to keep that wheel down a little more. We got through it, but only just.

We congratulated ourselves on a champion bit of cornering, and totally forgot about those turkeys. When we did remember them, we cautiously drove back to the scene of the crime and looked about. The blokes in the laser had indeed left the road and gone through a wire fence and a fair way into someone's paddock. The were standing in the paddock looking at the damage to their car, and although they saw us come back we chose not to stick around much longer. :)
