Hi Guys

I am wanting to oust the generator and install alternator instead in a mini matic

I really don't fancy pulling all the tape off the nice new wiring harness to rewire for the alternator. Is there a way to just modify the wiring at the plug of the regulator to enable everything to work correctly with the alternator?

Thanks,
Clae

There is a way of doing it using the original wiring and modifying the generator control box on the inner guard and using it as a terminal box, unfortunately I can't remember how as it was nearly 20 years ago I did it.

There's an article on how to do it on the mini mania website.

Right here on this very board in the "How to" viewtopic.php?f=25&t=27591

Or the minimania one as per Skell's link

Or these ones I stumbled across years ago :

(Not from a mini mag, but a 70's home improvement magazine - still looks like a mini block on page 1 I reckon)

cheers,
