Post subject:  Under bonnet heater mounting
Looking at fitting an under bonnet heater in a '67 Deluxe (it's previously had one), but discovered that there's two types of heaters/mountings: 3 bolt mounts, or 2 bolts and a rubber.

Would anyone have a photo of the body mount/bolt that goes with the rubber? Found a post from drmini saying its a "wide |_| bolt", but not sure exactly what it looks like?

Also, which sort would have likely been fitted in a mid-late 1967 Deluxe? There's a few holes in the inner guard, but looking like it lines up for the 3 bolt style.

It is just a U-bolt, with the middle bit flat not curved so it goes thru the vee in the rubber-, ie has 2 90deg bends in it.
I think it is 5/16" dia? I'll check that shortly.

[edit] NO, it has 1/4 thread on the ends, In the car, I can't see if the whole bolt is 1/4" dia with 2 flat washers on, or if it's 5/16" bar with the ends turned down to a shoulder. Check the size of the vee in your rubber mount.

Never seen one of them before, will have to keep an eye out.
I bet the heater is a lot easier to install with that rather than the third bolt type!

Yep it comes out in 5 mins flat.
That vee rubber is the same as used on a Moke bonnet hinge (I think).

Thanks Justin, that's fantastic. I don't recall ever seeing one.
Unfortunately looking at the inner guard, it must have had the early 3-bolt heater :( Shame because the good one we have is the later type.

The little rubber is the same as bonnet rod holder on early models, still available. 2H9215
