ben get rid of it and use oh heck i cant remember the name of it ... them fuel stars are full of little lead ball bearings and are supoused to disolve over time to give you lead in yer fuel

These have been around since the day dot, and they always claim amazing performance.
I have seen one controlled test on similar fuel catalysts performed by I think it was Zoom magazine in 2002. They found SLIGHT differences, not enough to warrant their purchase, not by a long shot. It was small enough that they could not be discriminated from small atmoshperic changes which may have altered the tests.

My all time favourite was the "Electronic Supercharger". It's manufacturers claiming amazing power increases. On pulling one apart, they found two computer cooling fans over the top of one another. The worst part being that one was back to front and therefore cancelled the other out.
For only a couple of hundred you could own one of these babies.

This one was tested by the RACQ and it did what they say, they also interviewed a fleet owner who swears by em, If I had a spare few hundred I'd get one to try out myself. Unlike the other gadgets this one has a sound theory behind it as well.

I agree with wombat. Any Idea how much energy is required to break a chemical bond?
Oil companies "refine" the crude oil that is they "fractionate" (separate) out the lighter hydrocarbons that are already there. Petrol is a blend of these fractions that are suitable for our requirements, and the blend changes from summer to winter to account for average ambiant temperatures. They do change the molecular structure of some of the stuff they get in order to utilise more of the crude (to sell for money) but it requires a big input of energy.

Where???? I looked at their site - not one shred of evidence or explanation on its functioning in any scientific terms. No independent verification data. In medicine we call it "evidence based medicine" that requires double blind cross over trials. Give me measurable data :evil:
