rears too? or just fronts?

Both front and rear. Built new strut towers for the rear and converted to a beam set up.

So do you always have to modify the rear towers to fit coil overs?

No, you can get shocks with offset tops, but they're not as good as turretting the rear to fit them properly as done above. Makes them stronger too.

Are the turrets just set up vertical to the bottom mounting location or do they need to be set on an angle?

Mine were set up vertical. No need to make angle changes.

Just looking into front coil overs at the moment - can I ask anyone in the know if you have to have 13x7 wheels?

that's a really good question, but the offset of the wheels might be more the issue

my assumption would be that fronts are OK, but rears could cause problems...?

You're right Simon - In my case I have 13x7 -7s, and 13x6 +15 wheels as a backup - a difference of 34mm where the shock absorber is!
Doesn't look like there's that much space in the pics above - and he has metro brakes!
