Post subject:  Which way does the crank pulley spacer thing go on?

Hi everyone

Was cleaning around the timing gear to refit the gasket and cover when I accidentally knocked the round spacer that was siting on the pulley shaft.

It has like an indent on the inner ring, so does it sit so the indent is rad/pulley side or does it sit so the further out bit sits next to the block?

Seems like a stupid question but I have to get it right!

Cheers
James

The convex face you can see above goes outwards.

yes the other way round :-)

should be an "F" on the convex side, means "Front"

Sorry yeah my bad, didn't have specs on. It is concave there, ain't it!

Duplex ones have F marked on em, I dunno about the deeper simplex ones like yours.

Cheers guys

Mine looks as though it has an L stamped into the convex side. (single chain)

It is called an oil slinger..

Just so you know, there are 2 types of slinger.
The one you have will only fit with a single row (simplex) chain.
There is also a flatter one that is made for a duplex chain, but will fit with either.
