Hi guys Just wondering if you could shed some light as to what is up with this HIF44 I bought recently from 8450jon on ebay? It was listed to suit Mini - but doesn't look like the linkages are right. The choke and throttle linkages just don't seem right at all. The casting looks wrong on the side too. Screw adjustments and take-offs like no other Mini HIF44 I have seen. Any help appreciated. ![]() Cheers Will |

They come in a variety of set ups. I have a correct one from an MG Metro engine in the Moke and another in a box. The spare has the butterfly turning in the opposite direction but both linkages on the same side as your photo. I had to make up a cable bracket to suit. The abutment plates available just didn't work. Looks like yours is different again and you will need to do some fabrication. M |

Hiya, the one I had on my clubby was very similar, I'll try and upload a photo from my phone. I have other hifs that are different again. As mokesta said, it is a case of bracketry. pic ![]() |

Yuck. Might get on the hunt for something that will be far more of a 'bolt on' solution. Cheers for the input fellas ![]() |

Mokesta - your images are absolutely sensational and give me a much better understanding of how I could make this work... and I think I might just do that! Interesting to see the choke cable position. Not fantastic for a Mini, but again I think I could make it work. Thanks a million for the images. |
