Post subject: | Timing in Cam |
Hi Everyone. I built my motor 5 or so years ago and it ran fine. However i never timed my cam in when i built it. Now i am swapping everything over to a different shell im wondering if it is advised/possible to do this while the engine is out. Is it possible to do this with the head on? Can you get an accurate TDC reference through the spark plug hole? Thanks Richard |

Yes you can. Use a pushrod or similar through the sparkplug hole. All you need to do is make sure that the rod moves relatively freely by positioning the dial gauge carefully. |

Could you use the mark on the flywheel for TDC? |

Its better to use the micrometer. The lobe center may be out from the aligned flywheel TDC. |
