JAM is now just DAYS away from completion!! :D :D

I have just spent hours doing the wiring.

What a great feeling I had when I hooked up the battery and flicked the switch - lights work!! ....after 3 years of being in darkness 8)

The motor turns over, dash lights work, headlights and parkers working, reverse lights ok....

The right indicator works, but the left flicks really fast, with no 'click' from the flasher unit. Both front and rear globes are ok....so is that just a dud flasher unit?

Also, I can't figure which wires go to the alternator. Can someone with a clubby and standard alternator tell me what colour goes where on the alt?

Cheers 8)

I'll be driving before the week is out!!!!!

Great Anton!!! How exciting!

I just spent the good part of tonight doing the wiring too... I am proud to say that for once I am happy with Lillee's wiring. It's a PITA royal for me... glad you are enjoying it cause I sure aint.

Can't help you with clubby connections though, check your Leyland book

Anton, install a New ERA headlamp relay, I just did that tonight, it's awesome! brighter, safer, fused, easy to do (once you get help from people like Doc   ). Just a thought... you wouldn't want to fry JAM's wires up after this touch wood

Yea it's a 3 wire alt.

Are the connections ont he ALT marked: +, IGN and AUX (as you have written?)

I can see the brown thick and brown/blue. I have a white to the coil...maybe that's wrong? :?

Damn Mini wiring....I have 5 manuals and they are pretty useless. The BLACK BOOK is the best of a bad bunch.

Yea Chong you can show me how to do that relay.

JAM check your eatrth points for the indicators as that can cause what you are saying
If the indicators blink normally to the right means something on the left isn't quite right (heh heh pun intended)

Sure thing! Is the great unveiling this weekend?? can you make it Sunday? I am up at Kev's on Sunday fine tuning the Dellorto. We can pop around if it is the "Big Day"

Don't forget it wouldn't be the "Big Day" unless you had lots of mini mates around to watch you start her up first time

 I took them off 3 years ago!!!! Do you honestly expect me to remember?!? :?

Chong.....I could use a hand bleeding the brakes and clutch this weekend. Then I can drive JAM, provided the motor fires ok, which could be tomorrow if I am lucky

Are you going to the Sunday swap meet? If so the boss and I will be there at 8 sharp. At 9 we will be at his place. Give Kev a call on sunday and we can be there in a jiffy! (and I mean a jiffy since Haha is running better than ever lately  )

Bleed brakes, I'm an expert at that :D

OK- alternator on a late Clubby will have 2 brown wires (to + on alt) and a brown/yellow (to IND on alt). That's it!
Call me when ready and I'll give you a hand to fire up & tune it.. 8)
